History Honored. History Made.

Duett's Texas Club finds it’s home on the lower level of the Martindale Motor Company Building, originally constructed in 1924 as a Hupmobile car dealership and later served as a gas station catering to the hardworking rural community of Martindale, Texas.

In 2019, Maury Domengeaux and Steve Schlossareck acquired the building, embarking on a comprehensive restoration project that successfully prevented it from being condemned and torn down. Their unwavering commitment to preserving history has led to the Motor Co building and Martindale's Main Street being officially registered as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

Step inside the Club, and you'll be transported back in time, as the original longleaf pine, now serves as the stage, bar, and ordering counter. Every aspect of the interior pays homage to the past, from the meticulously recreated pressed tin ceiling tiles to other intricate details that honor the building's origins.

Above Duett's, there are five fully furnished apartments, offering a perfect weekend getaway. Moreover, the Western 1924 apartments will serve as Duett's artist greenroom, warmly welcoming touring musicians from far and wide.

One of the Club's significant contributions is bringing the first liquor license to Martindale since 1882, thereby putting an end to the prohibition in town. This addition complements the efforts of other local businesses, such as Martindale Schoolhouse, Harper’s Store and Martindale River Cafe, in revitalizing the once-sleepy downtown Main Street. The result is a charming and historic destination, replete with music, art, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a range of appealing river town attractions.

Why Duett’s?

Introducing the husband and wife duo at the heart of Duett's Texas Club - Ryan and Katie Grametbaur. They are the heart and soul of this establishment, which bears the name of their spirited daughter, Duetta, a fiery red head with a big personality. Their shared dream was to bring to life a place that embodies everything they hold dear. With the invaluable support and encouragement from business partners Maury Domengeaux and Steve Schlossareck, the Club came into existence, a testament to their passion and dedication.

Ryan and Katie, Texas hill country natives, were the former owners of the Martindale River Cafe and share a deep passion for excellent cuisine, great music, and bringing people together for unforgettable experiences.

Ryan, also known as Ryan Quiet in the music scene, boasts over 15 years of entertaining in honky tonks and local bars. On top of his musical talents, he is no stranger to the culinary world, having managed and worked as a head cook in various restaurants. Recently, he discovered a newfound love for crafting delightful cocktails.

Katie's professional journey led her through retail management, art direction, and set design. Notably, she made a mark with her contributions to the renowned music festival, Luck Reunion, where she led the art department and set design for the grounds.

Together, their vision for Duett's is to create an authentic space where people from all walks of life can come together and experience genuine human connections while celebrating the arts. They fell in love with this charming small town of Martindale, Texas and aspire to infuse it with a fresh perspective, shaking up the traditional bar, restaurant and music scene.
